Carrying Two Tiny Tomorrows - Beach Sunrise Maternity - Twins - August 20265
First Contact
I received an email inquiry about a beach maternity session. It seemed like any other inquiry, but come to find out, this was definitely like no other!
After conversing a few times back and forth through email discussing investment options and locations, I found out, this first time mama-to-be was carrying twins! What a beautiful milestone to document, I was thrilled this mom chose ME to photograph her maternity journey.
And another surprise was that she requested to take some “announcement” style photos during the session. She told me that close family & friends knew about the couples pregnancy but they have kept their pregnancy off social media and mainly to themselves so they wanted photos to officially announce the twins!
This statement alone showed me that this couple valued their personal time together, valued their loved ones and were incredible secret keepers!!! HA! In this day of age you don’t often come across a person(s) who doesn’t seem to disclose their entire life story to you in the first 5 minutes of meeting them. So to hear that they have been able to keep to themselves and not tell the world about their twins, to me, was a unicorn of couple! I was super excited to meet them and hear about their story.
This couple was driving a little over an hour to meet me for Sunrise photos so they decided get a hotel the night before to make the drive easier on them, I spent an entire day gathering restaurants and locations near the hotel they choose to help them enjoy their weekend “staycation”.
Sunrise Morning
As the first rays of sunlight stretched across the shoreline, we began capturing a season of life that she had dreamed about for so long—the anticipation of becoming a mother for the very first time. But I kept reminding myself that this wasn’t just any maternity session. She was carrying two precious tiny humans, and every step along the beach was a beautiful reminder of the incredible journey her body was carrying her through.
As the morning unfolded, the waves gently rolled in, but even the most magical moments required pauses. Carrying twins is no small feat, and there came a moment when she needed to slow down and rest. Instead of seeing it as a break from the session, I saw it as some of the most meaningful moments of the day.
She sat with her husband beside her, and the world seemed to quiet around them. He held her close, offering comfort and support as they took in the reality of the little family they were about to become. There was something incredibly tender about watching him care for her—not just posing for photographs, but truly being present for her in that moment.
Wrapping up the morning
I found myself feeling incredibly grateful to be there to document such a meaningful day. Being chosen to capture these moments for a mother carrying twins is an honor, I didn’t take lightly. There is something so special about being trusted to preserve these moments.
This session was more than just beautiful images. It was a glimpse into the beginning of a new chapter, and I feel so lucky that she invited me into it.
Years from now, when these babies are grown, I hope these photographs bring her right back to this morning—the soft sunrise, the quiet breeze, and the incredible feeling of carrying these two tiny humans.
