Brides to Be, Tree Tops Park Davie, FL Sunset Engagement Session September 2024

I was looking forward to photographing this session since the brides-to-be contacted me. I started following my brides social media page the moment they reached out and I instantly fell in love with their personalities, their charisma and their overall lifestyle of assuring to make each other happy.

I haven’t seen a couple be so silly with each and laugh like true best friends, in a long time! It sparked a fire in my soul and I could not wait to see what our session together would be like!

THE BRIDES TO BE

Prior to our shoot, the brides were excited but I could definitely get the feel of their nerves wanting to make sure everything went smoothly and that they would “photograph” well. Are you kidding me!??! Both brides were absolutely gorgeous, they had no reason to be nervous, I thought. But this wasn’t a feeling I wasn’t new to. Like most of my clients, and most of us in general, we just want to “look and feel good.” I reassured the brides that when we were done with our session, they would be on cloud 9! I would make sure to keep our session light and fun and to let their personalities shine and guide us through the session,  each step of the way! Boy was I right! My original impression of the brides was 100% correct! The love and friendship between these two, secretly brought me to tears. Each section of photos consisted of explosion of laughs, inside jokes which created the most comfortable environment for them to just “be themselves.” Followed by those perfect loving moments which could stop anyone in their tracks to just watch love enfold. Photographing these two, surpassed anything I have experience before and I was grateful and honored to be apart of this moment.

THE LOCATION

This one was easy, the brides picked it! They had a special connection with Tree Tops Park in Davie, FL because this is where the bride popped the question! They had no doubt that their engagement session needed to be at the same park. The engagement took place on the east side of the park, in a secluded trail where they could be alone and set up the scenery perfectly. Their only request for their engagement photos was to make it at sunset time. EASY, I thought! I specialize in Sunrise and Sunset Photography, so I know all the best spots! I wanted to give the brides some variety in their photos as well. So We started off by the Observation Tower. It was full of huge Oak Trees and a wooden pathway. We moved on to another location, which most people just drive by without even stopping to take a second look! It has a completely different “woodsy” feel, than the rest of the park. When you see the final images, you wouldn’t even guess it was a Tree Tops Park!

Now was the time I checked my watch and said, let’s get to the bridge and lake!! The bridge to the lake is the best section for true sunset photos at Tree Tops Park. The location gives off such a comfortable vibe. The sun pours into the tree leaves giving the best golden hour feel, while standing on the bridge. Then moving straight to the lake where you can get a “true sunset” photo.

THE DETAILS

I asked the brides to give me the FULL story / details on their engagement and upcoming wedding decor. I wanted to include any and all special moments to be remembered into their photos. The wedding is being held at Funky Buddha Brewery, in Fort Lauderdale. Interesting choice, I thought at first. Until I saw the set up of the wedding to be. WOW! I was floored at how breathtaking it was! String lights, whiskey barrels, emasculate table settings. I was so impressed at how the establishment put it all together. We were unsuccessful at snagging a few whiskey barrels for the shoot but we were able to incorporate the brides beer of choice! They both asked if they could get some photos with some of their favorite beer cans, ummm, absolutely!!

THE FINISH

I have to reiterate my comment from the beginning. Photographing these two, surpassed anything I have experience before and I was grateful and honored to be apart of this moment. This is why I love  photographing EVERY occasion brought me. The people I get to surround myself, make this all worth it!

If you’re looking to experience something unique, something that is not “cookie cutter” then send me a message so we can start to create something beautiful together!
